Welcome to Societal.
Societal started its journey on February 22, 2015. We are looking forward to our tenth birthday next year.
We are what you expect from a big agency.
Well, not quite.
If you are a client or a new employee, we hope you will find Societal is different. Our time and money don’t go into layers of management; they go into the work we create, present, and hopefully produce.
We don’t like saying ‘no’; we find ways to say ‘yes’. It might require a caveat, but we will deliver if a client needs to get to market quickly.
Societal is an eclectic bunch, we have musicians; a drummer, two guitarists and until recently a pianist, oh and a singer-songwriter, who has returned to his roots. There’s an ex_chef, an ex-client, or two, and some who joined straight after graduation and have not left.
If you are an intern, you won’t be making tea. You’ll work on live briefs, and if you do well, you will meet the clients and present your work—we will throw you in the deep end; so far, every intern has swum. If you are an intern and reading this, contact us. You never know.
We do ‘agility’.
We don’t talk about it, but being agile makes us different. For one client, agility was saying ‘yes’ to filming 15 women in 3 countries in just 6 days, including our travel time. For another, it was making personalisation work when all around people said, ‘no’. Check out our work for Comfort X you.
We tell stories.
When you have two creative directors whose multi-year experience significantly adds to the average age of the agency, you should expect it. Seriously, we tell good stories. It’s in the work we do.
Finally, and most importantly, it is about the work.
Of course, it is. All agencies say this.
When you are a client, you will find out how important that last statement is. That’s why we are working with one client in Japan, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Korea, and Singapore: He sees how we treat every brief and project.
